West Perth-based diamond company Lonrho Mining Ltd has announced significant changes to its board make-up with Miles Kennedy taking over the chief executive position following Charles Mostert's resignation.
The company announced today that Mr Kennedy and John Firth have been appointed as directors with immediate effect with Mr Firth to take up the role of operations director in Angola.
Mr Kennedy was previously executive chairman of Kimberley Diamonds before it was acquired by Gem Diamonds plc.
Also from Kimberley Diamonds is Jean Mathis who will serve as the company secretary following the resignation of Will Burbury, who resigned due to increase business interests in Australia.
Manfred Marx has also been appointed to the board, taking over from Berend van Deventer.
David Lenigas remains as non-executive chairman along with non-executive directors Geoffrey White and Kagiso Chikane.
Subject to shareholdes approval, it is proposed the new management team be issued with 20 million share options as part of their remuneration packages, each with an exercise price of 37.5 cents and an expiry date of June 30 2010.
