Jabiru Metals says its board has given in-principle approval to the construction of a $10 million separation plant at its Jaguar lead, copper, zinc and silver project in Western Australia.
Subject to the receipt of suitable tenders, construction of the heavy media separation plant will begin in the March quarter next year, with commissioning to follow in the December quarter, Jabiru, a base metals miner, said in a statement on Thursday.
"The [plant] design allows for additional crushing and stockpiling capacity," Jabiru said.
"This will provide significant flexibility for any future concentrator upgrades.
"The HMS plant will add significant value to the existing reserve by upgrading the treatable grades of low-grade ore, improve stringer mineralisation to treatable grades, and reduce treatment costs by removing sub economic material from concentrator feed."
