Isolation no barrier to landing clients

BEING based in the world’s most isolated capital is no impediment to landing major national Sydney or Melbourne-based clients.

Perth web development company Method + Madness has won an impressive list of high profile corporate and government clients including Mercantile Mutual, Village Roadshow, BankWest, the Premier of WA, the Fremantle Dockers and radio stations PMFM and 94.5FM.

Method director Stephen Langsford said the nature of the Internet meant a company did not need to be based in big population centres to be a national success.

“Distance and timezones mean nothing for a web development company such as ours,” Mr Langs-ford said.

Method + Madness is being judged on its ability to perform – not on its location.”

The company was formed by a merger of web development companies Guerilla and Maximo Go earlier this year.

Fellow Method director Ruwan Weerasooriya said the key to making money on the Internet was how well you used it to better understand the needs of your customer.

“You can use this knowledge to deliver more targeted product and service solutions,” he said.

A growing area for the company is in the development of online applications.

Method’s football tipping software was picked up by major web players such as Telstra BigPond, OzEmail, AOL and Yahoo.
