Hood replaces Cormann at HBF as Federal Election looms

Perth-based health insurer HBF has replaced acting general manager Mathias Cormann with group strategy manager Sheila Hood, ahead of Mr Cormann's planned May resignation to contest a Senate seat.

Before working as group strategy manager, Ms Hood served as general manager of HBF subsidiary HealthGuard, and has previously worked in Canada, the United Kingdom and United States of America.

Mr Cormann will leave the company after taking third place on the Liberal Party's Western Australian Senate ticket in this year's federal election in party preselections last week.

HBF has appointed Sheila Hood as General Manager of HBF Health Insurance.

Ms Hood joined HBF in April 2006, having previously worked in a variety of high profile positions in the healthcare sectors in Canada, the UK and the USA.

Prior to this appointment, Sheila fulfilled the roles of Group Strategy Manager for HBF and General Manager for HealthGuard, (a national Australian health fund and a controlled entity of HBF).

Ms Hood has replaced Mathias Cormann, who was acting in the role of General Manager HBF Health Insurance. Mr Cormann will leave HBF during May to pursue a career in federal politics.
