Harvey Fresh has acquired New South Wales-based juice processor Nugan Quality Foods for an undisclosed sum in an effort to grow its capacity to supply juice and concentrates to South East Asia.
Nugan, which was established in 1974, has had a long association with Harvey Fresh, with the two companies entering numerous supply deals over the past decade.
Harvey Fresh’s John Scolaro welcomed the addition of Nugan to the company’s business.
“Since Harvey Fresh’s formation in 1986, it has grown into a strong agribusiness in Western Australia, and we are now looking to expand and diversify our operations,” Mr Scolaro said.
“The acquisition of NQF will provide a perfect growth opportunity for Harvey Fresh that is in line with our strategy, particularly through selling juice concentrates into growth markets in South East Asia.”
All Nugan staff, customer and supply contracts will be retained by Harvey Fresh once the transaction is complete.
The Nugan family will retain full ownership of its other interests, including Nugan Estate Winery.
