The Gina Rinehart-led company plans to develop new headquarters in West Perth following its acquisition of multiple sites.
Hancock Prospecting has lodged a $250 million plan to develop new headquarters for the company in West Perth to planning authorities.
According to the iron ore giant, the proposed development includes a “trailblazing building which would be the future centrepiece of a long-term Hancock Business Hub”.
“The vision is to create … an unparalleled workplace to support Hancock’s dynamic business,” a Hancock Prospecting statement read.
“The plans feature strong and unique architectural forms, and well-proportioned office and amenity areas … [with] emphasis on greenery and lush landscape.”
Perth architects Donaldson Boshard designed the project.
Hancock Prospecting added that about 60 per cent of the site would be dedicated to landscaping and public open space.
As well as a office space, the 10-storey development is set to include serviced apartments, restaurants, cafes, gyms, swimming pools and wellness areas.
It follows the company’s acquisition of five office buildings in a 20-month period in 2022 and 2023, including 53 Outram Street for $60 million.
The company’s purchases gave Mrs Rinehart the potential to amalgamate all her West Perth office properties into a 7,189 square metre site, bordered by Ord Street, Ventnor Avenue, Richardson Street and Outram Street.
PACT Construction has started building a $19.5 million redevelopment of an Ord Street building previously occupied by Santos.
A decision on Mrs Rinehart’s proposal for a $250 million office hub is in the hands of the Western Australian Planning Commission, via the significant approvals pathway.
