IN May, Global Gypsies will lead an intrepid convoy of 4WD travellers on a 12-day, self-drive expedition through the beautiful Karijini, Cape Range and Millstream National Parks, and then on to Coral Bay during whale shark season. En-route the Gypsies will travel through the pristine Kennedy Ranges timing their arrival perfectly with the full moon. As a special treat, there will be celebratory white linen, candlelit dinner in the outback. The Wild West Discovery Tour, which begins in Newman on May 3 and ends in Carnarvon on May 14, will be led by tour guide of the year and Global Gypsies director, Jeremy Perks. Each day, the convoy will cover an average of about 200 kilometres through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, with 4WD tuition as part of the package. Each night, the group will gather round the campfire to enjoy good food and good company. The cost is $1,150 per person and optional participatory catering is available for $35 per person per day. On this magical adventure, clients can either drive their own 4WD vehicle or hire a 4WD and ‘tag-along’. Some seats are also available in the escort vehicle. Numbers are strictly limited on this superb, nature-based experience. Details: 9341 6727 or www.globalgypsies.com.au
