WESTERN Areas has had good results at its Flying Fox project and is joining in a scoping study of Polaris Metals’ Bullfinch North Tenements.
The company received a continuation of strong results from its exploration activities at Flying Fox.
The company’s T1 mine development at Flying Fox is progressing with the 35 metre deep boxcut due to be completed in March followed by underground mine development.
Polaris Metals, meanwhile, has announced to the market that it plans to start scoping studies to see whether its Bullfinch north tenements live up to their 150 million tonne of magnetite potential and also whether it can prove the 50 million tonne potential at Mayfield.
The iron exploration and scoping study, along with follow up gold and nickel targets on the Bullfinch North tenements, will run concurrently with the gold exploration programs currently being undertaken on the company’s Central Yilgarn and Southern Cross-Parker Range prospects.
Besides Polaris, the major stakeholders in the proposed scoping and pre-feasibility studies are Portman Limited, with 60 per cent of Mayfield, and Western Areas with a 25 per cent carried interest in other relevant Bullfinch North tenements.
