Golfing replacements near

WITH the demise of the Heineken Golf Classic at the Vines Resort, at least two other golf events have indicated interest in filling the breach.

Eventscorp general manager Linda Wayman said the organisation was following up a couple of calls that “looked pretty promising”.

Over the past three years, Eventscorp-supported events have made a $40 million economic impact on WA.

Ms Wayman said the Heine-ken golf event had been a loss from a media coverage point of view.

“The coverage of the event was going to our prime tourism markets,” she said.

Along with the golf coverage, WA tourism ‘postcards’ had been included in the telecasts.
