Global Construction Services is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an additional formwork and concrete contract on the Western Australian Department of Health's Fiona Stanley Hospital Project in Perth from Delta Group.
The contract, valued at $3.8 million, has been awarded to CASC, GCS's Formwork division. This follows on from the recent award of a $75 million contract by Brookfield Multiplex on the same project.
As a sub-contractor to Delta Group, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation on their portion of the construction works, commencing in January 2010.
GCS Group Managing Director Enzo Gullotti said the contract represented a further boost for GCS and the CASC business and demonstrates the strength of its relationships and reputation in the construction industry.
"We're delighted to have been successful in our bid to Delta Group on one of the largest Government infrastructure projects in WA," said Mr Gullotti.
The $1.76 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital at Murdoch will be a 643-bed state-of-the-art hospital and the major tertiary health facility in the south metropolitan area.
The facility will offer first-rate health care services to communities in south of Perth and across the state.
Due for construction completion in late 2013 and opening in 2014, the hospital will provide high level medical and teaching facilities.
In addition to the Fiona Stanley Hospital contract, CASC's other major projects are progressing well, the City Square development in Perth ($24m contract value) and the Claremont Quarter project in Claremont ($18m contract value).
"We believe there is a great opportunity for GCS to continue build on its success in securing major local projects by targeting the significant projects being announced in the booming Pilbara region in the North West of Western Australia.
From its base in the North West GCS is well placed to provide its full range of services to this growing number of projects including the Chevron Gorgon project and Woodside's LNG developments."
