GenusPlus Group has extended its close working relationship with Western Power, after securing a significant maintenance and upgrade works program with the company.
The power and telecommunications contractor told the market that the five-year deal was predicted to generate around $50 million in revenue during the first year.
David Riches-led Genus will provide a raft of services – including pole replacements, line removal, defect repairs, along with cross arm and cross beam replacements within the first year.
The deal also involves transmission overhead maintenance, with the work delivered across the state’s South West Interconnecting Service.
“We are delighted to extend our long relationship to help maintain strong and reliable electricity infrastructure for Western Power and its customers,” Mr Riches said.
This work follows on from news in April that the company had won two contracts, valued at $50 million, with Andrew Forrest-backed Fortescue.
Its primary aim was to integrate the miner’s Pilbara-based iron ore and port operations into a solitary 220-kilovolt network.
As of 1.40pm WST, Genus was up 7 per cent, trading at $2.09, its highest price since joining the Australian Securities Exchange in 2020.
