Under the theme Competing Globally in the Critical Era, GRX26 will convene industry leaders in Perth to explore the technologies, partnerships and strategies driving global competitiveness in the resources sector.
The Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX26), taking place 5–7 May 2026 at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, is an industry-led conference and exhibition bringing together the full resources ecosystem.
Delivered by two leading industry associations — Austmine, representing the global Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector, and AusIMM, the professional body for people working across the resources industry — GRX26 connects miners, METS companies, researchers, government and international delegations in one collaborative environment.
More than 2,000 industry leaders, 150+ exhibitors and representatives from key mining regions around the world will gather in Perth to explore how innovation is shaping the future of resources.
A program shaped by the industry
Across three days, GRX26 will feature a dynamic conference program exploring the technologies, strategies and leadership shaping the future of mining and the METS sector.
Industry leaders from across the global resources value chain will take the stage to share insights on critical minerals supply, emerging technologies, sustainable operations and the evolving role of innovation in the sector.
The program brings together perspectives from mining companies, technology developers, researchers and global partners, creating conversations that reflect the full ecosystem driving progress across the industry.
Sessions will explore themes such as digital transformation, automation, exploration technologies and the innovations required to support the growing demand for critical minerals.
With more than 100 speakers participating across plenaries, panels and technical sessions, GRX26 offers attendees the opportunity to hear directly from the people leading change across the sector.
Global Open Innovation Colab
One of the standout initiatives at GRX26 is the Global Open Innovation Colab, an international challenge designed to accelerate solutions for the critical minerals era.
The challenge, “Critical Disruptors: From Discovery to Recovery,” focuses on technologies that can transform the way resources are discovered, developed and processed.
The initiative has been developed by Austmine in collaboration with a network of global innovation organisations, including Expande (Chile), the Peru Mining Innovation Hub, CEMI (Canada) and other international partners working to advance mining innovation. Together, these organisations connect mining companies with technology developers, start-ups and researchers tackling some of the industry’s most pressing challenges.
Companies from around the world are invited to submit breakthrough solutions addressing real operational needs across exploration, extraction and recovery.
Finalists will present their innovations live at the Innovation Accelerator Pitch during GRX26, where industry leaders and investors will evaluate the technologies with the potential to reshape the sector.
The winning solution will receive a $10,000 prize, providing both recognition and momentum to help accelerate the development of technologies that support the future supply of critical minerals.
For many attendees, the Colab represents one of the most dynamic moments of the event — where emerging ideas meet industry decision-makers in real time.
The GRX26 conference experience
GRX26 brings together the full mining value chain in an environment designed to encourage discussion, discovery and collaboration.
The event is intentionally interactive, offering multiple ways for attendees to engage with ideas, technologies and industry leaders. Alongside keynote presentations and panel discussions, the agenda includes workshops, collaborative conversations and varied conference streams exploring the technologies and strategies shaping the future of mining.
On the exhibition floor, attendees can explore the latest innovations from more than 150 companies, while dedicated spaces such as the Innovation Zone and theatre-style presentations provide opportunities to see new technologies and ideas in action.
Structured networking sessions, including Meet the Miners™, allow METS companies to engage directly with mining representatives through facilitated roundtable discussions focused on real operational challenges.
Networking sessions and informal gatherings throughout the event ensure conversations continue well beyond the formal sessions.
For many participants, these moments — the discussions between sessions, introductions on the exhibition floor and connections formed during networking events — are where the most valuable opportunities emerge.
Join the Industry in Perth
GRX26 is ultimately about bringing people together.
It is where mining companies explore new ideas, where innovators showcase emerging technologies, and where the conversations that shape the future of the industry begin.
From 5–7 May 2026, the global resources sector will gather in Perth for three days of collaboration, innovation and connection.
