The announcement is below:
Leading engineering and project delivery business GRD Minproc, a wholly owned subsidiary of GRD Limited [ASX: GRD], has been awarded an engineering design contract for Felix Resources Moolarben Coal Project in New South Wales.
GRD Minproc's Coal Group, based in the company's Brisbane Office, will undertake the work with support from international engineering and construction services provider, Roberts and Schaefer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elgin National Industries, as part of a co-operation agreement between the companies.
The contract relates to the materials handling areas of the $400 million coal mine, which is being developed in the Mudgee District of New South Wales. The scope of work to be undertaken by GRD Minproc and Roberts and Schaefer is for detailed design covering raw coal stockpiling and reclaim, product handling and loading, and services infrastructure.
GRD Chief Executive Cliff Lawrenson said the GRD Minproc team looked forward to working with Roberts and Schaefer to deliver quality outcomes for Felix Resources.
"The Moolarben contract provides an excellent foundation on which to grow our co-operation agreement with Roberts and Schaefer and we have identified global opportunities that will capitalise on the skill sets of our companies," Mr Lawrenson said.
"The work of our Coal Group adds to GRD Minproc's world class precious and base metals experience gained over the last 30 years, while Roberts and Schaefer is internationally recognised for its coal experience. Together we make an even more formidable team."
