GCS wins Brookfield Place works

Global Construction Services has been awarded a further $9 million worth of formwork and concrete works at the second office tower at Brookfield Place.

The new contract takes GCS's total awarded works at the project to $19.4 million.

GCS was awarded a $10.4 million contract in September to provide the formwork and concrete installation to the basement raft and core structure of the 16-level office tower.

The new tower, to be built by Brookfield Multiplex, will have 34,000 square metres of office space and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015.

Key tenants already signed up include accounting firm Deloitte and law group Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

"GSC is pleased to have secured additional contract works to its order book in the first quarter of the year," GSC Group managing director Enzo Gullotti said.

"We are anticipating a number of previously committed but delayed projects in the commercial sector to be let in FY14 and an increase to the outlook and activity in this segment."

GSC shares were steady at 50.5 cents at 9:00AM WST.
