Free websites prove popular

Web design and multimedia specialists Bluegem E-Link was swamped with applicants for its free web site offer at the recent Computer & Technology Expo.

Managing director Bruno Cozzi said the event was a roaring success with around 9,000 visitors each day.

Mr Cozzi presented a seminar each day of the Expo called Website Creation for the Complete Idiot.

He said marketing web site addresses was a crucial factor in ensuring success.

“This will be where your business comes from in the future so put it on letterheads, the side of your car, towels, toilet rolls...everywhere,” Mr Cozzi said.

“When registering your domain name, ensure there aren’t too many tildes and backslashes because detailed addresses are too hard for your clients to remember.

“Also, register with search engines to ensure there is more than one way to get to your web site.

“There are even free registration services such as,” he said.
