Foundation get PROSHed
The Dyslexia-Speld Foundation has received a $20,000 cheque from PROSH for a computerised literacy project to be established in the foundation’s South Perth offices.
The project aims to give learning-disabled children at primary and secondary school level access to reduced-cost individual tutoring using new software designed specifically for children struggling to acquire reading skills.
The DyslexiaSpeld Foundation receives about 5,000 telephone enquiries each year and provides further assistance to nearly 3,000 people.
The money came from sales of the PROSH spoof newspaper – this year masquerading as The False Allegation .
According to PROSH organisers the paper recorded its largest profit.
