Engineering company Forge Group has won several new contracts totalling $46 million, which include work on the Gorgon gas project and the federal government's Building the Education Revolution.
The Nedlands-based group today said that subsidiary, Cimeco, had secured a $10 million contract to design, supply and construct 16 storage tanks for the $50 billion Gorgon gas project.
Work on the contract has already started and is expected to be completed in March next year.
The Gorgon joint venture partners - Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell - have already awarded about $2 billion worth of contracts for the project with a final investment decision on the operation yet to be made.
Cimeco was also awarded an $18 million contract by the Department of Treasury and Finance as part of the federal government's education stimulus package.
The company has been contracted to build one or two new building to 12 existing schools in the greater Narrogin region.
Meantime, Cimeco has secured two additional contracts valued at a total of $13.3 million for work on the expansion of the Worsley Alumina refinery.
Project manager Bechtel has engaged Cimeco to supply labour and equipment for materials handling and warehouse services for the expansion of the Worsley Alumina refinery.
Cimeco will also design and build two coal fired power generation facilities at the refinery.
Forge added the company had also secured several contracts with Webb Construction (West Africa) Ltd over various gold and oil projects.
Last month, Forge smashed its full-year earnings forecast to book a net profit of $15.6 million for fiscal 2009, a 100 per cent increase on the previous year.
