THE inaugural City of Perth Youth Arts Sculpture competition has been won by first year University of WA fine arts student Ben De Vries.
Mr De Vries won $1,000 plus a $10,000 council commission to turn his concept into a civic artwork. His futuristic humanoid-horse sculpture, Phantacie, has been placed in Plaistowe Mews, West Perth.
Council obtained a grant from the Office of Youth Affairs to assist with the costs of the statue.
