COUNCIL will give $50,000 to WA Fashion Week, including the proposed Spring in the City.
COUNCIL will give $50,000 to WA Fashion Week, including the proposed Spring in the City.
Spring in the City will replace the Catwalk event that was a Fashion Week highlight in previous years.
Councillor Judy McEvoy said the event was a boon for traders, especially those around Forrest Place.
However, Lord Mayor Peter Nattrass said he would like to see the Spring in the City event held in King Street.
“It is important this event takes place where the fashion outlets are,” Dr Nattrass said.
“King Street is the heart of the fashion industry in Perth.
“If we don’t put the event on King Street we’re missing a great opportunity.”
