A MAJOR information and education campaign to prepare WA farmers for the GST has been recently approved.
WA Farmers Federation economics portfolio holder Marie Dilley said WA primary producers were among the first in Australia to access such
a program funded by the Federal Government’s Start-Up assistance scheme.
“Due to the importance of this education
campaign, we have supported the decision to use the WA Primary Industry Training Council to manage the campaign under the direction of a management committee,” Ms Dilley said.
The management committee includes repre-sentatives from the Federation, the Australian Association of Agriculture Consultants (WA), Agriculture WA Farm Business Development, Certified Practicing Accountants, the Pastoralists and Graziers Association and the PITC.
Ms Dilley said a series of seminars and workshops will take place at seventy locations across WA until 1 July.
