THE Film and Television Institute is staging a seminar to explore the latest information and government thinking on Web casting.
To be held at the institute’s Fremantle premises on Wednesday November 29, it will feature Peter Coroneos, executive director of the Internet Industry Asssociation as the guest speaker.
He will explore issues relating to video streaming, broadband broadcasting, high-definition TV, on-line gambling and censorship on the Web.
Mr Coroneos, a lawyer, has been a principal lobbyist to counter what he describes as restrictive measures exerted on the new technologies by the traditional broadcasters.
He has written many submissions on behalf of the industry on issues he says the government has overlooked as it grapples with a sector of the communications industry that is growing and evolving faster than government policy can be established.
The seminar is targeted to television, film and Internet providers who may be dramatically affected by the new Government rulings.
The evening seminar costs non-members $22 and members $16.50. Contact FTI for more information.
