Explorers turn to sex and gambling

SEX and gambling have drawn two mining companies into .com ventures.

Junior explorer Western Minerals directors decided the low gold price and rising Aust-ralian dollar made it too hard to raise capital for exploration.

So they decided to join forces with adult leisure products seller Barbarellas and launch new entity Limited. chairman Hans-Rudolf Moser said the company represented an opportunity to participate in the growth of the Internet through the adults product industry.

Mr Moser said this was one of the most popular Internet and profitable consumer electronic commerce categories.

Meanwhile, Trans-Global Resources NL, now Trans-Global Interactive Limited has entered into electronic gambling and gaming.

Trans-Global has bought a 30 per cent interest in the revenue stream derived by GET Group from Internet casino gambling and 50 per cent of the equity in GET Interactive which in turn holds a 42.5 per cent interest in the US Online Digital Tele-vision Gaming Channel joint venture.

Trans-Global executive chairman Bryan Frost said there were many Internet gambling sites throughout the world but none with the safeguards implemented by Australian laws.

“Australia’s sound reputation for probity and professional well-run casinos positions it well to serve the Asian region and is already attracting strong interest from Europe and the US,” Mr Frost said.
