Excellence awarded

PERTH City Council has been awarded the Program Excellence Award for Innov-ations in Local Government by the US-based International City-County Management Association.

The ICMA award recognises contributions to professional local government management.

Council has introduced a number of performance indicators that measure how well it is achieving its goals.

Each business unit has developed a set of performance indicators.

Council CEO Garry Hunt said Perth continued to focus on organisational development and had run a series of business excellence roadshows.

“The roadshows are designed to keep staff informed of the progress made by the organisation and help them understand how the Business Excellence framework has been used to develop the city’s action plan,” Mr Hunt said.
