Home Based Business Association Launch
On Monday June 23, the Home Based Business Association of WA is conducting the official launch of the Association , at the South of Perth Yacht Club in Applecross from 5:30pm. The Home Based Business Association will be officially launched by the Minister for State Development, Tourism and Small Business, the Honourable Clive Brown MLA, and has been founded to help foster the growth, development and welfare of home based businesses and nurture the aspirations, aims, hopes and growth of home based business operators in Western Australia. Operations & Facilities Management Course
The Property Council of Australia WA Branch is holding a one-day, entry-level Operations and Facilities Management Fundamentals Course, on Tuesday June 17, at the Curtin Business School, Murray Street, Perth.
The course has been designed for anyone who deals with operations and facility management at an entry-level, service providers, and maintenance staff, and will cover areas such as the role of the operations and facilities manager; building elements and services; operational plan and operating costs; compliance requirements; building inspections and building inspection reports. Keynote speakers at the course include, Harish Patel from SSL Facilities Management; John Pirovich from Colliers International; Neal Barry from Knight Frank and Peter Costa from Jones Lang LaSalle, will also deliver practical insights into this skills developing course.

Human Resources Seminar
On Tuesday June 17, the Australian Human Resources Institute is conducting a seminar entitled Successful Selection and Implementation of Human Resources Information Systems, at the WA Club from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. The seminar will feature a panel of three expert speakers, Dorinda Sullivan from Frontier Software, Jackie O’Dowd from Realising Potential, and Graham Blick from Aerospace Engineering Services, who will provide excellent advice and thought provoking ideas for human resources professionals on issues surrounding the successful selection and implementation of human resource information systems.
These expert speakers will also cover areas such as: selection of the best human resources information systems for current needs; effective supplier selection processes; how to implement a new human resources information system with the least pain and disruption; and maximising the value of the chosen system. Emotional Intelligence for Business
On Thursday June 19, the International Centre for Excellence is running a workshop entitled Emotional Intelligence for Business - EQ Beats IQ, at the Metro Inn, South Perth from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
By attendance at this workshop attendees will gain an understanding of the physical components of Emotional Intelligence, and the strategies that they can employ to raise both personal and career oriented Emotional Intelligence. The workshop will be practical, hands-on and fun, and will examine how Emotional Intelligence can: improve profit margins and keep motivation high; improve relationships with staff and clients; ensure that you are maximising your potential and the potential of your employees; improve the quality of your personal relationships; and manage your emotions and minimise emotional triggers.
The workshop will be run by Victoria Carlton, an experienced educator and public speaker who is passionate about the need for us all to improve our Emotional Intelligence and transform our workplaces, businesses and personal lives. State Managers Networking Function
On Tuesday June 17, AusIndustry are holding a State Managers Networking Function, at the Function Room, Level 6, 28 The Esplanade, Perth. This function provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to meet with senior AusIndustry staff, small business advisers and representatives from other leading government and business organisations.
