Compliance and Best Practice Seminar
On Tuesday May 6, Feinauer and Associates are conducting a breakfast seminar entitled Fore-Warned is Fore-Armed – Compliance and Best Practice Procedures, at their offices at Level 3, 191 St Georges Terrace, Perth.
The breakfast seminar is the next instalment in their examination of corporate governance issues and will feature Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, regional director, Sam Di Scerni.
During the seminar Mr De Scerni will be examining the issues of compliance with corporate governance requirements and reviewing some recommended best practice procedures for companies to consider, and immediately following Mr De Scerni’s address there will be a question and answer session.

E-Business Workshop
The Small Business Development Corporation in conjunction with Austrade are running a 3 hour workshop entitled Exporting Starts With an ‘E’, on Thursday May 8, at the Small Business Development Corporation Function Room.
The workshop has been designed to fast track local exporters on the road to e-business success and is aimed at small businesses that are seeking an introduction to e-business and its relevance to exporting.
Attendees to the workshop will come away with an understanding of the e-business tools that can be implemented in their export business to enhance or augment their traditional exporting methods. They also will learn how to market their product using e-business, simplify exporting procedures using electronic tools, and find out what export assistance is available.

Why the Rich Get Richer with Robert Kiyosaki
On Tuesday May 13, Pow Wow Events are holding a seminar at the Burswood Dome entitled Why The Rich Get Richer, the seminar will feature the world renowned financial educator and author of the international best seller ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ Robert Kiyosaki.
During the seminar Mr Kiyosaki will provide an insight into why real estate is a smarter investment than shares or managed funds; what the rich invest in that the poor and middle class do not; how to invest with less risk and higher returns; how to get higher returns and protect your assets; how to start investing with little or no money; why most people’s superannuation puts them at financial risk; and tax laws that favour the rich and how you can legally use the same laws.

2nd Annual WA Procurement Summit
The Australian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management in conjunction with IBC Conferences are conducting the 2nd Annual WA Procurement Summit from Monday May 5 to Tuesday May 6 at the Sheraton Hotel.
The summit has been designed to keep attendees abreast of industry developments and provide a variety of perspectives of key issues in strategic procurement.

Pre-employment Medical Screening Seminar
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA, are running a seminar entitled Dispelling the Myths-Pre-employment Medical Screening, on Thursday May 8, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Function Centre.
The seminar will address the fine line between meeting your duty of care obligations and breaching anti-discrimination laws when hiring new staff and will cover issues such as, when can an employer use pre-employment medical testing; can testing be made compulsory; are pre-employment medicals subject to discrimination laws; can medical assessments be used as a risk assessment tool; when should an employer refer an applicant for testing; and pitfalls of pre-placement examinations.
