Euroz half year profit leaps 27%

Perth-based stockbroker Euroz Ltd has revealed its half year result, with a 27 per cent jump in net profit reflecting the great environment for those servicing the markets.

Euroz's net profit climbed to $8.1 million or the six months ending December 31 from $6.4 million for the previous corresponding period

The broker's net after tax operating profit leapt to $8.1 million compared to $5.7 million.

Pre-tax operating profit was up 41 per cent to $11.7 million from $8.3 million.

The company said the result had been achieved through strong results from all divisions of the company's main operating subsidiary, Euroz Securities, profit on Investments and Westoz Funds Management.

"The directors are confident of continued profitability in the second half but the level of profitability will, as always, be dependent on market sentiment and activity," executive chairman Peter Diamond said in a statement.
