Eneabba Gas Ltd and Verve Energy have jointly announced today the memorandum of understanding between the two companies to give Verve access until December 2007, to the first tranche of gas supply purchased by EGL from NWSG.
This is to meet EGL's initial requirements for start-up and plant testing of its Centauri 1 power station (168MW) near Dongara, in the first quarter CY 2008.
Verve Energy will transport and utilise the EGL gas until the start-up of the Centauri 1 power station. In recognition for this commercial flexibility, Verve Energy will support EGL's access to the SWIS network through the use of unused capacity at its Mungarra Power Station connection point.
The ability of EGL to use this capacity remains subject to systems approval by Western Power Corporation - Networks, which should be forthcoming in the near term.
