West Perth-based oil and gas explorer Elk Petroleum Ltd has appointed a new president and vice president of operations to its Wyoming office.
Christopher Mullen, who replaces Bryant Mook as President of Elk Petroleum, Inc., is a professional geologists with 20 years experience in Rocky Mountains mining.
Dennis Brabec, the new Vice President of Operations, is a professional Petroleum Engineer and has also gained most of his 35 years experience in the area.
A statement from the company said the new appointments would progress opportunities at both the Grieve and Sand Draw South Oil Fields, representing a significant and progressive change to the Company's management make-up.

- The Company has completed the appraisal at the Grieve Oil Field of the Upper Cloverly Formation at well #7 on Tuesday 1st August (USA time). The Formation was found to be water wet at this well. Bottom hole pressure data and water samples were taken to help in the understanding of the Grieve Oil Field Geology.
- The work over rig will also test the 2nd Frontier (deepest of the Upper Sands) at well #7. It was determined by the acquisition of cement bond logs during the preparation for the Cloverly Formation appraisal that the 2nd Frontier is isolated behind cement. The 2nd Frontier will be perforated and tested in the coming days.
- The Company wishes to advise the appointment of two key personnel to the Casper office. Christopher Mullen replaces Bryant Mook as President of Elk Petroleum, Inc., while Dennis Brabec has been appointed Vice President Operations. Chris is a professional geologist with extensive local knowledge of the area having worked all his 20 years in the Rocky Mountain region of Wyoming. Dennis is a professional Petroleum Engineer and has also gained most of his 35 years experience in the area. The new appointments will progress the development of opportunities at both the Grieve and Sand Draw South Oil Fields while bringing numerous new opportunities to the Company. This is a significant and progressive change to the Company's management make-up.
