EMCO Building has won a $21 million contract to build stage two of Ashdale Secondary College in the northern suburb of Darch.
The school already caters for years 8 to 10 and is scheduled for completion early in 2012.
It will eventually accommodate 1,200 students.
"This final stage in the construction of Ashdale Secondary College will provide senior school facilities for students who will be enrolled in year 11 and 12 once the project is completed," said Education Minister Liz Constable.
The contract is for two double-storey buildings and one-single storey building, and includes extensions to the physical education and the materials technology buildings.
Minister assisting the treasurer Bill Marmion said the contract provided value for money and was well below estimates for the building program.
"This contract is a good example of the Government's commitment to our works program and demonstrates attention to good project management to control costs, consistent with our works reform objectives," Mr Marmion said

The State Government has awarded a $21million contract for stage two of Ashdale Secondary College to EMCO Building.
Education Minister Liz Constable said the independent public school - which currently caters for years 8 to 10 - was scheduled for completion early in 2012 and would accommodate 1,200 students.
"This final stage in the construction of Ashdale Secondary College will provide senior school facilities for students who will be enrolled in year 11 and 12 once the project is completed," Dr Constable said.
"The buildings have been designed with environmental concerns in mind and are oriented to optimise northern aspects and minimise exposure to the west.
"The construction plan includes safety, health and security measures for the students while part of the current school becomes a building site."
Project managed by the Department of Treasury and Finance's Building Management and Works division, the contract is for two double-storey buildings and one-single storey building, and includes extensions to the physical education and the materials technology buildings.
Minister Assisting the Treasurer Bill Marmion said the contract provided value for money and was well below estimates for the building program.
"This contract is a good example of the Government's commitment to our works program and demonstrates attention to good project management to control costs, consistent with our works reform objectives," Mr Marmion said.
"The Government is placing a more strategic focus on asset planning to ensure projects are fully justified, to generate savings and deliver projects on time and on budget."
Stage two of the construction work will include:
double-storey science and T&E (technology and enterprise) block with multi-purpose labs, mechatronics and activity/information technology resources, food studios and textile resources
double-storey senior school block with class areas, IT labs, activity/IT resources centres, seminar room, offices, storage rooms and tiered auditorium
single-storey middle years' block with class areas, activity/IT resources areas and outdoor learning centres
extension to the materials technology block for woodwork and metalwork studios and store rooms
extension to the physical education building, with classrooms, fitness centre and change and storage rooms behind enclosed playing courts.
The college - located in Darch and servicing Madeley, Darch and Landsdale in Perth's northern suburbs - opened at the beginning of 2009 and caters currently for about 750 students in years 8-10.
