Energy and Minerals Australia (EMA) has had a short lived court victory with opponent Yarri Mining today appealing a Supreme Court ruling over the Mulga Rocks uranium deposit.
Last month, Justice Rene Le Miere dismissed action brought by private outfit Yarri, which claims the state government did not follow the correct process of granting EMA the tenements containing the uranium deposit.
EMA today said Yarri's solicitor had informed the company that a notice of appeal had been lodged.
EMA has yet to receive the notice and consequently is not aware of the grounds of appeal.
"The company is disappointed Yarri has chosen to appeal given the strong judgment dismissing their original action," EMA said.
"The company will vigorously defend the appeal."
