Dwyka Subsidiary Signs Concrete Supply Contract
Dwyka is pleased to announce that its South African based subsidiary, Supermix Mining (Pty) Ltd has been awarded a contract for the supply of concrete for the construction of a new prison facility in Kimberley (Northern Cape, Republic of South Africa). Supply will be delivered through an on-site batching plant over an estimated period of 17 months, commencing immediately. It is anticipated that over 40,000 cubic metres of concrete will be required to complete the project. It is estimated revenue generated from the supply will be approximately ZAR 24,000,000.
Announcement of the supply contract comes on the back of a number of other recently awarded contracts, and higher demand for low-cost bricks produced by the Company. Demand for construction materials has risen as South Africa prepares for the 2010 soccer World Cup, which will see Kimberley as a regional host of the event.
Dwyka's chairman, Melissa Sturgess said today "The increased demand for building products has necessitated utilisation of an additional batching plant to fulfill our supply obligations to the prison project. Buoyancy within the region, and strengthening demand for our products may result in expansion of our existing facilities to satisfy local requirements."
