TRAFFIC flows on several streets east of the Hay Street and Murray Street Malls have changed as part of the Perth Access project, a partnership between the Perth City Council and Transport.
Key project elements include widening footpaths, planting trees and installing street furniture.
Transport director for metropolitan strategy Emmerson Richardson said, in addition to providing for the more efficient movement of traffic, the changes have allowed an upgrade of the pedestrian amenity and retail environment.
“The project has created a more attractive and substantially enhanced retail environment with increased potential for alfresco dining,” Mr Richardson said.
