Diploma Group Ltd today announced it has been awarded preferred tenderer status for the first stage of the circa $60 million Genesis Office Park, located in East Victoria Park.
The project is being developed by Macquarie Bank Property Division. Construction is expected to commence by September 2008.
The first stage of the development consists of two office buildings of five and six storeys respectively. Stage two of the development will add a further office building to the total project.
Diploma Construction Managing Director John Norup said the contract was significant in that it shifted the balance of sector work for the Group towards a larger degree of commercial construction work.
"This shift in focus is part of the Group's overall strategy and provides the company with another platform from which to expand our services," Mr Norup said.
"Diploma Construction has earned its reputation for excellence in the construction industry and being awarded preferred tenderer status is a reflection and recognition of that.
"This is also demonstrated by the significant amount of new work the Group has secured in the past six months."
Together with Stamford Property Group's Hay St Office building, one of five new projects announced on 2 July 2008, this project will take the current contracted work book for the Group to well in excess of $450 million.
