LandCorp is seeking a development partner for its latest urban infill project, Parkside Walk in Jolimont.
Three lots totalling 6,247 square metres have been initially made available at the project, which is located at a former council depot and nursery site on Salvado Road, between Wembley Sports Park and Henderson Park.
Developers are being sought for the first stage of works, which will comprise up to 142 apartments with the buildings capped at six storeys.
The second stage will likely comprise a further 200 dwellings, with Parkside Walk to feature seven apartment sites and 24 single residential laneway lots.
LandCorp chief executive Frank Marra said developers had been invited to bid for the lots separately or as a package.
The project is being developed by LandCorp on behalf of the state government and the Town of Cambridge.
“The site has been empty since the early 2000s and the development is a great example of the local council working with the state government to create a new and vibrant community,” Mr Marra said.
“We want to work collaboratively with local governments to ensure we are able to meet the challenges of population growth, which will see our city carting for 3.5 million people by 2050.”
Offers for the site close on September 22.
The LandCorp release follows the state government last week seeking proposals from developers for a 4.2 hectare site in the northern suburbs, at the former Hainsworth Primary School in Girrawheen.
That land parcel is expected to yield up to 160 homes.
Housing Minister Brendon Grylls said the successful proponent would carry out design and construction work up to handover, with site work expected to start midway through next year.
The closing date for submissions from developers is September 29.
