The Chief Justice of Western Australia, David Malcolm, has been appointed to a chair of Law at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. Professor Malcolm will resign from his position as chief justice early next year to teach undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws course. He will also spend time at the university’s Sydney and Broome campuses, according to Notre Dame. He has had a large involvement with the Notre Dame Law School, since it opened eight years ago. This consisted of contributions to the teaching program and legal practice training. The university also expects Professor Malcolm to be a major contributor to the foundation of its Sydney Law School, which will open in February next year.
