Database trick removes office phone book

LARGE corporations can now offer their staff access to eight million telephone numbers in-house with a new intranet package.

It comes from the Australian leader in this technology, DtMS Marketing Systems, and was released at the Burswood Computer Expo on the weekend.

Managing director Andre Scibor-Kaminski, who started in 1993 with $1600, says his company is now a world leader in software compressions and data base systems.

“Part of our success is that we are absolutely focused on listening to our customers’ feedback.” he said.

“IntraPhone came about after a throwaway comment from a client who wanted an intranet directory which would allow his 5000 staff to access a telephone directory without paper-based directories.”
