Data loss closes business

ALMOST half of businesses that have a major data back-up failure and have no disaster recovery plan never re-open, according to The Integrated Financial Group’s Greg Milner.

Mr Milner said it was astounding that many companies still seemed to employ the “it’ll never happen to me” mentality.

“Secure, encrypted offsite data storage is simply risk management,” Mr Milner said.

Mr Milner said WA businesses could back-up data offsite with Brisbane-based SureVault, for example, but still control it from their offices.
