PERTH-BASED construction and engineering group DORIC recently announced it had entered into a significant partnership arrangement with Western Australia’s flagship theatre company, Black Swan State Theatre Company.
In addition to sponsorship, DORIC will engage with Black Swan as staging partner until mid 2013, and will join the theatre company in its first year as a resident of the new State Theatre Centre of Western Australia in 2011, the same year Black Swan will celebrate its 20th year.
As staging partner, DORIC will assume a key sponsorship role, supporting Black Swan’s staging and set construction for its productions in the new State Theatre Centre.
The partnership will also enable Black Swan to utilise the available space and technology, including the powered flying system, state-of-the-art digital sound mixing reinforcement and conventional and moving light fixtures on stage.
Black Swan general manager Shane Colquhoun said the new partnership with DORIC came at an exciting time for the theatre.
“Black Swan’s move to the new State Theatre Centre in 2011 will allow us to present high quality theatre productions in a state-of-the-art theatre that will take the audience experience to a new level,” he said.
DORIC joins Black Swan’s principal partner, Rio Tinto, and a growing list of new and long-term sponsors including Wesfarmers Arts, ANZ and the Water Corporation.
