COUNCIL has written off a $88,000 debt owed them by the WA Government through the Building Management Authority – now Contract and Management Services.
In 1998-99, the Council undertook construction and landscaping work on behalf of the authority at the Transperth Busport.
Funding for all the above works were to be sourced from the BMA, Transperth and the Council’s parking fund.
The BMA disputed the amount due for the work done and the Council’s effort to collect the debt has been unsuccessful.
Construction and landscaping works carried out at the busport amounted to $1.7 million with only the work relating to drainage modifications being disputed.
