Coogee seeks to buy out Nufarm from chlor-alkali JV

Kwinana-based Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd confirms it is in advanced negotiations with Victorian crop chemicals firm Nufarm Australia Ltd, to acquire Nufarm's 80 per cent stake of two chlor-alkali plants in Kwinana and Kemerton.

Coogee, which owns the other 20 per cent, hopes to finalise these discussions in the near future.

The company also indicated that its Coogee Resources subsidiary will launch its initial public offer by November or December, if all goes to plan.

Coogee Chemicals chief financial officer Colin Napier indicated that the company was still in the process of appointing brokers for the deal.
