WA’s premier strategic resources event, CPA Australia’s 2000 Resources Convention, is a unique opportunity to confront the issues facing the resources sector in the new millennium.
Issues to be tackled include e-business, the impact of the GST and tax reform, carbon credits and trading, risk management, triple bottom line reporting and sustainable development.
Speakers include Resources Minister Colin Barnett, Normandy Mining chief financial officer David Hillier and conservationist Harry Butler.
There will also be high level presentations and case studies from companies such as WMC, BP Amoco, Chevron Australia, Anaconda Nickel, Woodside Energy and Equinox Resources.
On a lighter note, special guest at a special gala dinner will be Australian and WA cricketer Tom Moody.
Resources Convention will be held on August 17-18 at the Hyatt Regency, Perth.
