A recent survey has found that most local businesses with operations in Indonesia remain confident in the wake of the recent bombing of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.
The survey, conducted by the Australian Indonesian Business Council, found that of its 37 members who responded to the survey, 80 per cent considered the bombing would have minimal or no impact on their business.
A similar amount of AIBC members considered it would have little or no impact on their industry as well as bilateral trade and relations between the two countries.
The AIBC said individual respondents comments ranged from “do nothing” to “look elsewhere” to “defy this intimidation”.
It said several members were making operational adjustments including increasing security awareness or using more remote management techniques.
Some said they would defer travel for the moment.
