Concert Hall lease sealed

COUNCIL has at last finalised the lease for the Perth Concert Hall.

The grant of a new lease to the Perth Theatre Trust, the body charged with the running of the Perth Concert Hall, has been on council’s books since 1995.

Council has agreed to a five-year lease with a rental of $1 a year.

The rental of the Perth Concert Hall has been an issue for the past five years.

Discussions stalled when the WA Government moved to consolidate the management of all cultural activities. They faltered again when the WA Government sought to transfer ownership of the property from council.
