Sessink joins Santos
Energy company Santos has appointed Manuel Sessink as drilling and completions manager for its WA and NT operations. Mr Sessink was previously senior drilling engineer, engineering supervisor, and most recently drilling superintendent at BHP Billiton.
Ince to Deloitte
Tony Ince has been appointed as a principal in the indirect tax practice of professional services firm Deloitte. He was previously an indirect tax adviser at the Australian Taxation Office and was CPA Australia’s WA spokesperson on GST matters during implementation.
Young, Chessell in Euroz moves
Doug Young (far right) and Greg Chessell have been appointed as executive directors to the Euroz board. Mr Chessell is currently the head of research at Euroz Securities and a senior resources analyst for the company. Mr Young is currently the head of corporate finance at Euroz Securities.
Noble recruits Johnston
Gold producer Noble Mineral Resources has appointed senior resources executive and qualified metallurgist Peter Johnston as chief operating officer, in preparation for the start of production at the company’s Bibiani gold project in Ghana. In the past, Mr Johnston has held similar positions at Goldfields, Red Back Mining, Range River Gold and Minera, in Australia, West Africa and South America.
New management at IOH
Iron Ore Holdings has recruited three new iron ore professionals. Noel McAuliffe, the former group finance manager at Cliffs Natural Resources, has been appointed as chief financial officer. Mark Strizek, who was previously director exploration of Mineralogy, has been appointed as general manager of exploration. Peter Rose, who was most recently project manager of mining for BHP Billiton’s RGP6 iron ore expansion, has been appointed as general manager of project development. Chief geologist Manohar Ghorpade continues in his position.
Macnamara joins Gresham
Gresham Advisory Partners has appointed Ben Macnamara as manager. He was previously an associate director in the transaction services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Fraser joins Dwyer Durack
Mid-tier Perth law firm Dwyer Durack has appointed Peter Fraser as senior associate. He is a former partner of Monaghan & Associates, and has also worked with the Director of Public Prosecutions in Tasmania and Ilberys Lawyers. His practice focus is on liquor licensing, industrial relations and criminal law.
Frere to Greenland
Greenland Minerals and Energy has appointed Garry Frere as commercial manager. Before joining GMEL, Mr Frere he was a principal in a company providing boutique consulting services to small cap mining companies. His appointment is part of the expansion process for GMEL’s Kvanefjeld project in Greenland.
