National ice cream chain Cold Rock Ice Creamery says it has plans to open more than 25 new stores across Western Australia over the next two years.
The franchise said it planned new stores in Perth, Albany, Mandurah, Broome, Geraldton, Bunbury and Margaret River, among other locations.
In total, Cold Rock is planning 15 metropolitan area stores, and 10 regional locations.
"Of the almost 100 Cold Rock stores nationwide, we only have two in WA so there is massive opportunity to grow this market," Cold Rock owner Franchise Food Company's managing director Stan Gordon said.
"Our current locations at Hillarys and Fremantle are both owned by the same franchisee and consistently perform well against the top stores in Australia.
Mr Gordon said the WA market was ripe for more competition.
"The state's climate population growth and strong economy coupled with the unique Cold Rock offering ensures the brand is well positioned to succeed."
Cold Rock's plans follow those of rival ice cream chain Baskin Robbins, which announced earlier this month that it expected to open another 10 stores in WA over the next 12 months.
