Engineering contractor Clough has announced its joint venture with France's DORIS has won a $250 million deal to provide support services for the Ichthys LNG project, in the Browse Basin off the coast of Western Australia.
The Clough-DORIS joint venture will provide integrated project management services including engineering design, procurement, fabrication, at-shore commissioning, tow to site and offshore hook-up of the central processing facility for Ichthys.
The joint venture is a 50:50 split between Clough and French offshore engineering firm, DORIS Engineering.
Commencement of work is subject to the execution of a binding contract and a final investment decision by the Ichthys joint venture participants, Japan’s INPEX and France-based Total.
Clough estimates its workforce for the contract will grow to around 300 during the fabrication phase of the project.
Clough chief executive John Smith said the company was delighted to have been selected to perform the works.
“We will utilise Clough’s proven project management systems and the complementary strengths of both Clough and DORIS to deliver on the technical, project management and resourcing challenges associated with this landmark Australian LNG project,” Mr Smith said.
The Ichthys project is expected to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per year, along with 100,000 barrels of condensate each day at peak capacity.
