The final site of Claremont on the Park precinct, reportedly valued at $1 billion, was recently put on the market.
The site, known as Lot 512, is on the southern side of Shenton Road, and as such sits apart from the apartments surrounding Claremont football oval.
Located opposite Davies Rd, it is next to FORM Gallery and Café and was formerly used a car park.
Design guidelines for the site allows a commercial or retail development of a minimum of two storeys and up to four storeys.
The site was previously used as a makeshift carpark, including for private parking for the Claremont Football Club.
The sale is being brokered by Sterling Property.
A redevelopment of Claremont Oval and the surroundings has been more than a decade in the making.
The Claremont on the Park precinct comprises 11,700sqm of commercial space, 2,600sqm of retail space and more than 750 homes, according to DevelopmentWA.
Other projects in the precinct include Mirvac’s Claremont apartments, a 143-apartment complex by Blackburne, The Queenslea aged care facility by Oryx Communities, and The Terraces by Iris Residential.
Iris Residential launched its $150 million Claremont apartments in November 2021, after considerable delays.
The Terraces development is expected to be completed by late 2024.
Business News has contacted Iris Residential for an update.
