Chaney’s pedalling for charity

Former Wesfarmers managing director Michael Chaney AO has just launched the Pedalling Penguin Appeal at Margaret River to raise money for the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation. The Note hears Mr Chaney won’t be getting on his bike; instead Prevelly Penguins social swimming club member Patrick Thompson will ride out of Margaret River in August headed for the Manning River in NSW. Mr Thompson, a ceiling contractor from Margaret River, will turn 50 on the day of his departure and is preparing by running 30km, cycling 200km and swimming 4km each week leading up to his 80-day ride.
