Calibre Group says it is well-positioned to win further works in Singapore after securing a $14 million deal with a Singaporean government agency for underground rail engineering services.
Calibre said today that its subsidiary, Brown Consulting, had been awarded the supervisory services and construction contract by the Singapore Land Transport Authority.
Work on the 30-kilometre Thomson underground rail line is due for completion in financial year 2018.
Brown will supervise the construction of an underground rail station, associated tunnels and ancillary works.
The company has previously won a raft of separate works on Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit system, including construction supervisory services on the Tuas West Extension, due to be completed by 2016.
“Calibre has targeted growth in South-East Asia as an important strategic priority for the business,” chairman Ray Horsburgh said in a statement.
“This award builds on Brown’s growing reputation on Singapore’s vital rapid transport infrastructure projects.
“We believe the group is well-positioned for work on other rail and transport projects in Singapore and the region.”
