REFRACTIVE laser company CustomVis is expected to announce that it has raised $10 million in private funding to commercialise its products for correcting vision disorders. In May the company raised $1 million in seed capital from a number of international investors and, according to company president and CFO Dr William Ardrey, those same investors and others have committed to further investments in CustomVis. THE City of Perth has rejected a proposal for a $6 million extension of the Perth Clinic on Havelock Street. The private psychiatric hospital made an application to council for construction of a new, three-storey hospital wing on Emerald Terrace, adjacent to the clinic. This would require the demolition of two single-storey houses. Perth Clinic chief executive officer Moira Munro said the decision was very disappointing for the business. Full report, Page 7.
